I never really involved myself in such disputes, i just want to mention something. I played A LOT of MMORPG's. Seriously. Through my childhood i played like 10 types of it starting with Conquer Online, through even good ones (Archlord, Runes Of Magic), and I eventually landed at Aion because of the pure possibility of wings and flying. I played MAGE on EVERY SINGLE GAME. Mage, sorcerer, wizard, whatever. Attack magic all the time.
I play Sorcerer here to. I think we can seriously agree that Sorcerer is THE MOST underpowered class in Aion. This is also a common simptom in every other game. People somehow just don't like to give mages good power, with lethal efficiency from distance. They prefer almost always physical combat. I don't know why. But i won't argue. Even though I am CONSTANTLY being beaten by ppl with same lvl but almost no clothing at all (seriously, no matter how much you know to fight in Aion, almost all attacks disrupt the charge time of Sorc spells, and we simply cannot kill alone. No PvP one on one win possible, only with other mage. We can cast 2 maybe 3 spells in one match, while the opponent does about 20 strikes with almost similar power and damage.) I still play it. I realised at the beginning, I will never be imba or even a fierce warrior. So i found beauty in other stuff, like making my character nice. I have now all my stuff remodeled to black Elder (shining and glorious), and i will only buy Mastarius from web shop, cause there is really no point in sorcerer to be in AGB since he will get owned anyway.
But guys, please. For there to be winners, there must be also losers. This is not our life, this is a method of distraction. Don't get upset about power differences. There will never be an MMORPG where everything is balanced. It will always come down to what class the developers like more. They humor us by creating and solving the others aswell, but there will never be a balance. I accepted that the Sorc will never beat even a weak glad, or templar, or ranger. I think from this point the solution would be to just enjoy playing. If you really want to throw out money to buy stuff, do it, but enjoy it and stop raging about it. Nothing is perfect, not even a game like this. Find that one thing you like in it, and let those who are at fault (I know you are right about the topic of this thread, but the right thing doesn't always happen. Most of the times the convenient things happen) to take the consequences. And believe me someone like an owner of this server won't care about the players' individual petty problems, of they get the money. It is everything about money. If the number of players and most seriously the INCOME won't drop DRAMATICALLY, things will NEVER change. Why bother to change something that pays out anyway? So the best thing is to accept this, or make a private server where you make YOUR favorite classes strong, or whatever Do not put your daily satisfaction on how many characters can you own in an online game. This is fun. Fun doesn;t necessarily means winning. PLAYING it is fun

 

I don't agree with the way Spawn posted it; but, I can agree with the sentiment. It is hard for a lot of people to go from a "working" server to the new server with a host of new bugs.

As someone who plays a caster class; I was shocked when I started seeing glads do 3-4k cleave on my abg +15 chars. From my point of view, my best sorc skills take 3-4 seconds to do that much damage and can be disrupted. Same story for some of my heals on my heal class. It sucks playing heals because cast get disrupted, healing boost is broken etc...

That being said, I do want to take the moment to thank Carl, the AMs/GMs/Devs for all the hard work they have put into fixing the new emu. There have been a lot of fixes that have been put into place in a very short time frame. The new emu is coming along nice and I think once the bugs get fixed it will be a much better system than the old one.
