Too many accounts hacked lately

i use Heroic on my sin, it doesn't even have a Speed inc. you could get arbulo anointed that should be easy for you...

lol. what are you playing then? farmville? go search it up and get that in-game. if you say you can't just shows how lazy you are for a task that easy to get. which will in return help you to get speed hackers in game.

On topic about Accounts being hacked.

I believe part of it is within a GM's task, announcement in-game is very important cause 43% of gamezaion population are tards who only come to forum once they got hacked or banned.

also, a simple automated announcement should be enough to remind everyone frequently to keep their accounts safe and not give the password to retards.

for those who got hacked through some website or cause they use third party application, it serves them right.

I see your point on the cheap tactics.
But that is what Logs are for, and as I said, if the person was hacked, remove the items from the hackers or to whoever account the items where transferred and IP ban every single player and account involved in the movement of the items, what I usually did was Perm Ban the main offender and 1 week IP ban to secondary players involved. Second event involved cost them a Permanent ban. This will ensure this tactics are not used. Also since original items are restored and removed from the other accounts there is no way to get actual FREE extra items. Also remembering that they need to have proof of the ownership of the items. Its a change in the policy BIG one with extra rules but it will beat away this pesky hackers or "wanna be ones with appz".

To other readers that where mentioning the Speed Hackers, those are mainly EXPLOITS. Those are not covered in this suggestion, but I see your point too. But reality is that you cant do anything unless you have proof. No proof or GM watching, nothing can be done, as ayanamii explained. Then again its not what we are talking about in this suggestions but thanks again for your concerns.

as you can see our world here is like REAL LIFE..

scammer dupers cheaters hackers = CRIMINALS
Admin = POLICE
legit and donators = RICH bastards
noobs = WORKERS

as you can see... here in GAMEZ we live like the world... without those CRIMINALS, Gamez preferabbly would be like WOW now <--- everything is BORING, just accept the truth that WOW has died because admins want everything LEGIT. got an example from a friend who is trading a large amount of gold in WOW from legion bank... ADMIN banned him for it. seems pretty idiot he got banned for now PROOFS

 

So what you are saying abgleatherset is that POLICE doesn't care if the RICH BASTARDS get robbed, the WORKERS get ignored and the CRIMINALS roam free if they don't get caught or you make the case easy for the POLICE????

yes at it is.. if the POLICE doesnt get enough proof when RICH bastards get rob.. well its CRIMINALS are on the loose and as for WORKERS they get ignore for awhile UNTIL they get enough Money to buy those armors and take good care of them from those CRIMINALS

 

The only way for anyone to even get your log-in name is if you give it to them in the first place.

Which would mean.
1) Third party Program
2) Fake GM / Admin
3) Account Sharing

Yet, this thread is pointless.
If Carl'n'C.O. is not willing to change 'hacked policy' then it's no use asking him to do so.

Many people visit sites they should not, seeking unfair advantage or just by plain accident.
My expirience on the hacking case is simple, i've got hacked once, yes only once, and as i wrote official letter to the company at which i got hacked (Acclaim/B.O.T.S , long long time ago) they told me i had weak password and just got bruteforced as their logs had over 400 unsuccesful logins at my ID.

The cruicial thing here was my mistake, as a beginner at MMOs, i had same IGN as login ID.

So, let's assume someone gets hacked here like me at B.O.T.S.
Pretty neat, isn't it? Every single person on the forums will bash that person claiming he/she/it visited/downloaded what he/she/it shouldn't.

 

...or just use common sense? pick a password of 8 symbols and above and u cant get brute forced, would take em like a year lol. also dont pick obvious words in any language, dictionary hacks r a lot easier to do than brute force

its actually funny, the way most brute force attacks work, the safest 8 symbol password is zzzzzzzz xD

 

Actually Asaline I'm not sure about this server but that's not entirely true... There are ways to know USER IDs without someone giving it to you... Like:
1. checking the forum and seeing how people post their usernames.
2. There are some applications that also ping out information of usernames out of servers. (The server returns last login time and even some information of the account...) Like I said I don't know if this server has this problem. Just pointing it out.
3. All the above you mention (which in that case its USERS FAULT) I agree on that one with you.

Anyway this is a suggestion thread, and for mohrad, I don't think its pointless... I have never been hacked thank GOD... But if it happens to you or someone you know and know it wasn't their fault, then this Thread will not be pointless...

Now if this happened to me... I will surely leave the server... Cause since I only vote and don't donate, my items took a LOOONG time to get... and still don't even have full ABG... LOL

Mhmm i agree with skandulf its true that there are some users who give in into being stupid and they end up giving their information and later on they get screwed.. but anyways i saw your first post and yes its really fk up how people in this server lose items get hack and the gm cant even trace it , .. im a donator myself and i lost my abg chestpiece one day that they added like a patch or something.. next thing you know never saw it again . and the answers to my problem were just ridiculous... They do need to improve in those kind of situations or else people who donate would just say fk it like i did..best wishes to the Admin ill say i hope he improves those kinda of situations because it is really just awfull to see so many problems going on with the server.. lets focus on the game community not just only if there its a new version of aion....

Although I understand your joke..., I actually thought Usernames and passwords couldn't have symbols like ~!@#$%^&*() etc... and also... Who the heck has a password like that and remembers it... xD

 

Not even a week and Again another account hacked today and owner claims no one had his password. He doesn't looks like he speaks good English, looks like he used a really bad translator to post his situation... And again Nothing is done... HACKERS Number of Wins (???) vs Legit Owners Number of Wins (0....)

Again thank God Ive never been hacked, although I have never had VIP account...
