If you want a fused arm/Augmented weapon that extends then you need to put an extendable weapon as the primary. It won't work as the secondary.

The major flaw in your plan is, for 10s, an opponent gladiator has more than enough skills to DPS you through the range of your extendable spear.

Several hard hitting AoEs, as well as SPC all have an attack range that exceeds that of an extendable weapon. Also, as far as I know, skills that physically move the opponennt, like dash attack, or leaping smash, will work even through snare.

Though, for the most part its a good idea, its not as godly as you make it sound.
