    6970 doesn't worth it, my advice get a 6950 2gb version and unlock it to 6970. And by the way you'll need at least 650W of PSU for it.

    It is risky to unlock the hd6950. It may kill the 6950 as it has much lower voltage spec than the 1 that is used on 6970. In other words, you need a very good overclocking skill to maintain its voltage.

    get i7 2600k and overclock it to 4.0ghz
    gtx 560 ti (overclocked to 570) should be enough, my fps with max settings is 80-90fps with no zerg ofcourse, when there's a zerg it drops to 30-60. note* I'm playing with 24inch LED screen, this affects the fps cause the screen is big xD
    mobo is asus p8z68-v pro
    8gb ram
    60gb ssd
    1-2tb hard drive
    750-1k watts of power supply
    get a decent extra cpu fan or cooling system so that it won't over heat

    this cost around 1200-1400 usd

    For those of you thinking that getting a new GPU (video card) in hopes getting a lot better performance from Aion, I'd say this ... DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!

    Aion is built on an old cry engine that utilizes CPU memory instead of GPU memory for graphics. Since Aion is a 32 bit windows program, the maximum memory available for the program is 4 GB. This is why the game lags so much, even though you might have a great ping or hefty GPU. The only way to get better performance from Aion is to run the game with a Quad Core processor using DDR3 memory and over-clocking.

    Gamezaion doesn't support the 64bit Aion client so the only other recommendation I can make for better game performance is to turn your graphics down in the "graphic options" section.

    I agree,
    If you just play in HD (1920x1080) You can have a good 560 Ti for less than 200 € and it will be enough
    If you are planning for a complete upgrade you should go for a quad core i5 for less than 200 €, a motherbord Z68 (for 150€) and 8 GB ram 1600 MHz for 40€

    For performances (fps) the GTX560-TI will give you (almost) the same of a GTx570.

    If you play 2560x1440 than you need a GTx580

    Thats what i'm talking about if you have enough money buy CPU,MB,RAMs first if you want to buy good graphic card for any shity phenom or so you will just waste ur moneys because the card will work only for like 30% or so.

    I made the same mistake mine card work for 30% atm and cpu 100% xD

    in my option the guy is going to waste a lot of moneys for a card that his cpu can't even handle because most of the time MB->RAM->CPU->GPU

    Actually, you validate my post. Windows can give Aion more memory resources now that you have 6GB, thus resulting in better performance. Notice that you didn't increase the quality of your GPU to get an increased FPS.

    I played retail for over 2 years and it's widely known in the Aion community about the 32 bit client and it's limitations. Anyhow, if you don't believe me, just google it.

    Oh, before unsubbing earlier this month, my friend got an SSD drive and told me he experienced much smoother game play running Aion from the SSD drive.
