Why does this happen?

My character's Settings was reverted back to default. It happened 2 times already.

i was playing when i got these disconnections then after several attempts of logging in, i finally got in game but shit happened (again).

Skills on quickbars are gone also the keymaps. (how easy is it to set all that up?)
All settings was reverted back as if you made a new character.

no problem with the skills and stigmas all are present but what if it happens again? why does this happen? do staffs have some sort commands/ability to have your settings back again?

 

i see. so this is a unique problem i'd say.

What do you mean with character settings? Keybinds and such?

 

No.

There's no reason for this to happen either, unless you hit restore default or something. Or you modified your client which is causing it.

 

Disconnecting resets all modifications you've made while logged in. L2stuff



@archeleus: if you couldn't figure it out by yourself here's what you're supposed to do - set up all your keybinds and anything else you want, then restart the game manually so you don't risk DCing at random and you should be fine. This happens to me pretty often cause i mute/unmute my volume a lot.

 

Game settings in general. Which of course all about what we modified, our "preferred" settings for gameplay and all.
-General settings
-Sounds
-Graphics
-Keymaps->quick bars
-Interface
-ALL

in example you might want to change title: Show abyss rank, basic title, or hide it; tick decline viewing detail and such (not to mention lots of things which you really prefer to change, i'd be making a novel out of it). All things/settings you modified has gone back to default. And the most butthurt part for me was the quickbars with all those keymaps. yeah i have to redo all those things.

to meanz: i did not click or had any accidental clicks on restore default settings.
edit: about the modifying client thing. it only happened to 1 of my characters after those consecutive disconnections i got but my other characters' settings are just fine.

 

Try to go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Ncsoft\Aion and delete the System.cfg file. If the file was set as "read only", Graphic and Sound settings will always get back to default. Not sure about the game settings (keybinds/names/interface etc). Try to do how Insanitybg said, set up your keybinds and settings and close your client manually.
